Chosen Quotes:
"'Big-ness’ - dismiss scale and proportion as no longer applicable to contemporary architecture" - Rem Koolhas
+
"Create a sense of warmth and humanity as opposed to sheer function" - Alvar Aalto
=
The main focus of modern Architecture should be on 'big-ness'. Forget scale. Forget proportions. Focus on rational geometry is self restricting. Design space in which induces a warm and humane state of mind. Design should be have form over function or function over form. Rather, an equilibrium of both.

View of light rail stop from Anzac Parade. This shot of the light rail stop demonstrates Koolhas's view on modern architecture. Relative to UNSW campus, the light rail is enormous.
Aerial shot of light rail stop showcasing the solar panels, which improves sustainability, which light up the tram stop during the night.
Picture of entrance which leads into the light rail stop from UNSW.
The front of the light rail stop from which passengers usually see when they light rail arrives at UNSW. The curved, organic, frame of the light rail is textured with my dark texture, 'CELLUAR'. The wait for a light rail is not usually profound, however the curved forms create a humane atmosphere as it is a change from the stereotypical use of rational geometry in architecture. This furthers Aalto's concept of how a building should not be designed with just its function but in mind, but also the feelings it induces when seen.
Night view of UNSW Lower Campus light rail sign seen from underneath the light rail stop on Anzac Parade. Pot plants are placed to create a more natural surrounding.
Low angle shot of the light roof and exterior of the light rail.
Afternoon view of the furnishing and interior of the tram stop. Use of the medium texture upon the walls. Use of the light textures upon the roof and the of the tram stop and the seating. The building's core material was to be a sustainable and nature-friendly one, hence the heavy use of wooden textures amongst the tram stop. The surrounding wooden frames create nice shadows and creates a contrast with the angles of the window.
Interior of light rail stop shown from outside the window on the left of the tram stop. The extrusions of the wooden frames is done to not only create spaces for viewing purposes, but also so that the light rail stop's rectangular shape feel less confining.
Angle from where the passengers see the light rail stop.
